The Bridgestone Road Safety Excellence Centre at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE), Pune, is a dedicated initiative aimed at advancing road safety education, research, and practical implementation. Established in collaboration with TRAX S. Society – a National Road Safety NGO, under the SATARK initiative, the Centre focuses on developing skilled professionals who can contribute to safer road infrastructure and traffic systems.

The Centre serves as a platform for capacity building, training, and research in road safety engineering, enabling students and professionals to gain hands-on experience in areas such as road safety audits, safe junction design, traffic analysis, and safety-oriented infrastructure planning. Through structured training modules, field-based studies, and collaboration with industry and civic authorities, the Centre aims to promote a safety-first approach in transportation engineering, with coordination and implementation support provided through the Transportation Engineering Lab, headed by Dr. Suresh Nama.

By integrating academic learning with real-world applications, the Centre aspires to support India’s Vision Zero objective of reducing road fatalities while fostering innovation, awareness, and sustainable mobility solutions.
